Living in the beautiful South West of England - in sight of the sea - has its benefits; but access to computer skills is not one of them.

To be fair, because I can do this sort of stuff (making web sites, I mean) I'm seen as a bit of a specialist myself, and I help people to fix their computers when they're having a bit of trouble.

You know the sort of thing ... getting rid of viruses, making their computer easier to use, recommending the right software, helping to install it; and all that stuff.

When I need help myself is when the trouble starts ...

If something electrical or mechanical stops working; I use a local specialist - by that I mean up to 50 miles away !!  You may know someone closer to you !

But when it comes to serious operational troubles ... or performance troubles ... or misbehaving and quirky software ... or a tricky application problem ... even just a nasty printing problem ...
